Perfect Plan
Everything went perfectly. No flaws in the plan. Perfect, that is, until we lost Stevie.
I know what you’re thinking. How could we lose a six-foot alleged murderer? Believe me, it’s rather easy.
Kelly and I had been going to the bus, in hopes of entertaining him. When we got there, guess what? That’s right: no bus. “Where could it have gone? It’s been here for years, the engine’s rotted out…” Kelly was bewildered.
“I don’t know… maybe the town finally paid to have it taken away. The real problem is finding Stevie.” I started to panic. “I’ll tell Father Ed. Maybe he’ll know what to do.”
“Yeah, right. I say we find him ourselves.” He disagreed in his melodic voice.
After searching in the remotest of places, we ended up at the ditch. There, we found Stevie. And the police.
