Vicksburg, MS—Authorities announced the death of the ill-received super hero, Shower Man, aka Norman Routhbaum. His rise to fame, using his powers of water and soap generation, was marred not only by his daring choice of costume, a towel, but also by the questionable age and similar attire of his “sidekick”, Shower Girl [real name withheld].

Together, they defeated such villains as The Grime, The Reasonably Filthy Half Dozen, Ick, as well as foiling a plot to contaminate Head and Shoulders with permanent blue dye, the scheme of the little-known Smurf Cult. The duo went into hiding, presumably separately, after allegations surfaced regarding their living arrangement.

Shower Man was found in his own home dead of, “causes as natural as you’d expect in this population,” according to county coroner Erv Kingles. Details are being kept on a need-to-know basis until a full investigation can be completed. Shower Girl could not be reached for comment, though her rep insists she is out of the country.
