“How about this one?” asked Kevin pointing to a tree.
“Yeah,” I said looking around. Just a minute ago Nick was standing right next to me, now, he was no where to be found. Where was he?
“Joe, where’s Nick?” I asked. Joe turned pale.
“I don’t know,”.
“Okay….”. We got the tree and brought it back to the cabin. It was starting to snow.
“Let’s do this!” said Joe, flexing his muscles. Wonderful.
“Let’s go, danger!” I said as Joe smiled. We brought the tree inside, Nick-less. We decorated the tree, Nick-less. And we all sat down and watched TV, Nick-less.
“Oh! I forgot this!” said Kevin as he held up the star. He got up on a step stool behind the tree as Nick walked in through the front door.
“Hi!” he yelped. He started to panic. “If you were wondering where I was, I was just out looking for a new tree topper. Heh, uhhh, yeah, well Kevin found the old one! Good idea!” I nodded. This was weird.
“Kevin!” called Nick. Kevin yelped and fell off the stool. Then, BAM . There went the tree.
