OK, so maybe I chose to interpret the phrase “hauntingly beautiful” a little too literally… ;p

i was thinking of something along these lines as well Ana, but you did a much better job of describing it then i would have. =)

As per usual, this was a great ficlet. Fantastic little twist to the challenge, with great mood and surprisingly deep characters.

Having fun with the surprise twist endings there, aren’t you. This one was great. Loved the little details to tell us where the story is taking place.

Just when i was beginning to believe you were the literary advisor to the borg, hell bent on assimilation, you amaze me with your ability to feel. I also like the way you interpreted the challenge. It is nice to see you here in the fringe. (My Mother who is a lit proff. says you won’t take this as a compliment but i really mean it as one i liked it alot.)

beautiful story.. love how you presented the scene and how you introduced the characters. The twist really gets you at the end.. it makes for a good ending.. Good job!!

Very cool idea, and wonderful imagery to start it off with. I like how he visits the picture in the museum.

wow this was reeeeeeally great.

This reminds me a lot of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo. It has a similar storyline. If you haven’t seen it, I would reccomend it, however stop before you get to the end. Which, in my opinion, was a random easy out and sucked.
But your story was great!
