uselessness's SHOCKING DIALOGUES Challenge!

So I’ve never hosted my own challenge, but seeing how it is all the rage these days, I figured I’d finally take a stab at it for my 85th ficlet.

Your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to write a story told entirely in dialogue, and it must feature a jaw-dropping, mind-bending, surprise twist ending!

This will sharpen your skills at writing realistic conversations. Through speech alone, you will establish a world your readers think they understand… and then completely turn it upside-down.

The challenge ends December 3rd, so get writing!

You may submit up to two stories, but please limit each one to a single ficlet (no continuation in sequels for this one).

I’ll judge stories on the quality of the writing and on the unexpectedness of the twist. Also, I’m going to be very picky about spelling and grammar because those are important to me, with generous grace for characters that speak with accents or the like.

OK, this was a cool challenge. Writing only using dialogue is definitely a good way to improve on your skills. Let me know what you think.

Hmm… if I can think of a twist I like, I’m in. This sounds like fun, and I’ve enjoyed reading everyone else’s entries so far.

It was a very brief time period for this one, mainly because I didn’t want to have to judge a thousand entries. ;-) However, in just four more ficlets (which could come very soon) I’ll be at 100 and ready to host another challenge. It will also be a fast one. Keep your eyes peeled!
